Job Description

HHM Hotels is a renowned hospitality company that operates a collection of hotels known for their commitment to exceptional guest experiences and quality service. With a focus on fostering a positive work environment and encouraging career advancement, HHM Hotels has established itself as a preferred employer in the hospitality industry. The company emphasizes its core values of respect, excellence, agility, and ownership, encapsulated in its philosophy: People Are Our Capability – Hearts That Serve – Only Excellence – Stay Nimble - Own It.

This opportunity is for the role of a Steward at HHM Hotels, which is a pivotal position within the kitchen and hotel operations team. As a Steward, your primary responsibility will be performing dishwashing and kitchen cleaning functions to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and safety in the kitchen area. You will operate dishwashing and other kitchen cleaning equipment to ensure all dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans are thoroughly cleaned and properly stored. This is essential for smooth kitchen operations and contributes directly to guest satisfaction.

In this role, you will maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in clean and orderly condition, stock supplies in serving stations and refrigerators, and perform floor cleaning duties such as sweeping and washing. Additionally, sorting and disposing of trash in designated areas will be part of your regular duties. There may be occasions where you will assist in food preparation during busy periods or staffing shortages, showcasing the versatility and teamwork HHM Hotels values.

The Steward role at HHM Hotels offers a competitive wage of $18.00 per hour and includes a clear growth path leading to roles such as Cook, Stewarding Supervisor, Executive Steward, or Sous Chef. This demonstrates the company’s commitment to professional development and internal promotion. Working in this position requires adhering to safety standards, including wearing protective equipment and following OSHA and MSDS guidelines, reflecting the hotel's dedication to workplace safety.

Employees will work varying schedules that may include holidays and weekends. This physical role involves standing for extended periods and performing tasks such as walking, lifting items up to 50 pounds, bending, reaching, stooping, and kneeling. This environment requires stamina, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude.

HHM Hotels believes in supporting its team members not just through competitive wages but also with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, a 401k company match, and additional perks like daily pay, life insurance, travel discounts, commuter benefits, wellness programs, educational development opportunities, and referral bonuses. These benefits ensure that team members feel valued and supported both in and outside of work.

If you are committed to maintaining cleanliness, safety, and seamless kitchen operations while aspiring for growth in the hospitality industry, the Steward role at HHM Hotels is an excellent opportunity to develop your career in a supportive and dynamic environment.
