This commitment to excellence ensures that every individual receives the optimal care and attention they deserve in a welcoming and supportive environment. As a part of Powers Health, Hartsfield Village Rehab integrates compassionate care with innovative practices to meet the complex needs of its residents and patients.
The Dietary Steward position at Hartsfield Village is an entry-level role designed to support the dietary department's daily operations. This role does not require prior experience, and full training is provided, making it an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start their career in food service within a healthcare or assisted living setting. The position offers excellent competitive hourly wages and a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees. Part-time employees can also enjoy a convenient and flexible schedule.
The primary responsibility of the Dietary Steward is to assist with the overall cleanliness, sanitation, and smooth operation of the kitchen and dining areas. Duties include operating dishwashing machinery to wash and sanitize dishes, silverware, and cookware; delivering meals, snacks, and beverages to designated areas; assisting with basic food preparation; maintaining temperature logs; and stocking food and supplies following established rotation policies. Additionally, the Dietary Steward will be responsible for submitting work orders for necessary kitchen repairs and adhering to all safety, sanitation, and infection control standards. The role requires physical capabilities such as regularly standing, walking, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, and the ability to lift or move items up to 50 pounds.
This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy teamwork, customer service, and contributing to a supportive environment. Given that Hartsfield Village emphasizes a friendly atmosphere not only for residents but also for staff and visitors, the Dietary Steward plays a key role in upholding these high standards by ensuring the dietary services run efficiently and hygienically. The position also offers opportunities for growth and development, supported by the employer’s tuition reimbursement program and employee wellness initiatives.

The organization supports its employees by providing a robust benefits package, including paid time off, medical, dental, vision, prescription benefits with low deductibles and low co-pays, life insurance, short-term disability, supplemental insurance, a retirement plan with employer match, and various wellness programs. This thoughtful support system ensures staff can focus on delivering the best care possible while maintaining their own well-being.
