The role being offered is for a full-time, non-management position located at 2121 S Prairie Ave, Chicago, Illinois, within the food and beverage and culinary category. This position is vital in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and safety necessary in a luxury hospitality setting to provide an exceptional guest experience. In the role, the successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining various kitchen cleaning equipment, including dishwashing machines, hand wash stations, pot-scrubbing stations, and trash compactors. A major component of the responsibilities includes ensuring that kitchen and storage areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment are washed and disinfected thoroughly to uphold health and safety standards. The candidate will be expected to receive deliveries, properly store perishables, rotate stock, and maintain clean ware storage areas. Use of detergents and sanitizing chemicals in the 3-compartment sink to clean dishes and utensils is required, alongside inspecting, pulling, stacking, and dispatching soiled and cleaned items to maintain cleanliness and operational efficiency.

Additional duties include rinsing and loosening food residues on dishware, sorting and soaking silverware for washing and re-washing, breaking down dirty bus tubs, and maintaining trash receptacles and dumpster areas. The role demands cleaning and mopping all assigned departmental areas and ensuring proper disposal of materials such as glass and cardboard in designated containers and recycle bins. The candidate will adhere strictly to company safety, security, and maintenance reporting protocols, including attending required safety training and certifications to uphold a safe work environment.

Physical demands are considerable and include moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects up to 50 pounds without assistance, standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, as well as reaching overhead and below the knees, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. The role may require additional reasonable job duties assigned by supervisors.
