The position primarily involves operating and maintaining cleaning equipment and tools such as dishwashers, hand washing stations, pot washing stations, and trash compactors. The role also encompasses thorough cleaning and sanitizing of the kitchen and storage areas, including tables, utensils, knives, and equipment. Employees in this position will be responsible for managing deliveries, properly storing perishables, rotating stock, and ensuring that clean dishes are stored in appropriate locations to maintain kitchen efficiency and sanitation standards.

This role requires the use of chemical detergents, disinfectants, and rinse agents in a three-compartment sink to wash dishes effectively. Duties also include inspecting, stacking, and returning items for re-washing when necessary, applying hot water sprays to remove food residues, and sorting and soaking flatware. Additionally, employees will categorize and separate containers used for dirty items while maintaining cleanliness in waste disposal areas, including emptying trash bins and recycling cardboard and other materials.

Physical activity is an essential aspect of this role, as it involves lifting, moving, pushing, pulling, and placing items weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance, as well as standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods. The job requires various physical movements such as reaching overhead and below the knees, bending, twisting, dragging, and stooping to ensure thorough cleaning. Furthermore, employees must adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, report hazards, complete safety training and certifications, and protect company property.
