The Steward role at Riverhouse Lodge is vital in maintaining the heart of the house through ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of the hotel’s kitchen areas. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous housekeeping or kitchen steward experience preferred
  • strong attention to detail
  • ability to communicate effectively
  • ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods
  • physical ability to lift and carry at least 25 lbs
  • ability to operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, mops, and brooms
  • ability to follow safety and sanitation procedures

Job Duties

  • interact with team members and create a positive work environment
  • maintain a daily sanitation log for dish machine and manual pot wash sink
  • ensure work areas are ready and communicate any issues
  • lead green initiatives by properly recycling cardboard using compactor
  • conserve energy by turning off lights and managing water use
  • monitor high traffic areas to prevent accidents
  • use proper dish and glass racks to avoid damage
  • proactively clean and sanitize equipment during slow times
  • learn different kitchen tasks and develop new skills
  • assist other areas as needed
  • engage genuinely with guests and crew with a sincere smile
