Job Requirements
- Basic reading, writing and math skills
- Ability to carry or lift items weighing up to 75 pounds
- Ability to stand and move about kitchen or other designated areas
- Ability to handle objects, products, chemicals, cleaning supplies and utensils
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel
- Ability to communicate with others and follow instructions
- Ability to read chemical or machine labels and operating instructions
- Basic mathematical skills used to mix chemical solutions

Job Duties
- Clean and sanitize plate ware, silverware, glassware, pots and pans, utensils and equipment, and work area in a timely manner
- Clean designated equipment such as hoods, filters, steam tables, bus tables, carts, ovens and grills, sinks, refrigerator/freezers, service areas, walls, floors, kitchen cafeteria dump site/compactor area as assigned
- Set up work station including filling dish machine, checking chemical levels, presoaking, and gathering required equipment
- Replenish work station supplies as needed for all shifts
- Rinse and scrape dishes
- Operate dishwashing machine to manufacturer's specifications
- Place clean dishes in assigned storage location
- Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments including Catering, Banquets, Outlets, and Maintenance
- Empty and clean trash cans, transport garbage containers to dump sites, and adhere to recycling regulations
- Set up and monitor pot sink according to procedures
- Sweep and mop kitchen floor at the end of meal periods and after spills
- Monitor chemicals and water temperature during shifts
- Clean and organize work area and kitchen equipment to maximize efficiency
- May assist with other duties as assigned
