The Steward role at Three Peaks Casino is a critical component of the kitchen operations team. This position primarily involves maintaining the cleanliness of dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to ensure a smooth and efficient food preparation process. The Steward works closely with other members of the kitchen and dishwashing crew to uphold hygiene standards and sanitation protocols throughout the kitchen area. This role also entails some heavy cleaning duties during closing shifts, contributing significantly to the overall safety and tidiness of the kitchen environment. The Steward’s responsibilities are essential for complying with health regulations and helping the kitchen function seamlessly. The ideal candidate for the Steward position should be detail-oriented, able to work at a fast pace, and committed to supporting the team’s daily goals and the casino’s broader mission of exceeding guest expectations. This is a full-time role, which involves working various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays, offering an opportunity to become an integral part of a well-respected team in a growing entertainment venue. The ability to obtain and maintain a state or tribal gaming license is also required for employment in this position.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to operate in a working environment subject to varying levels of cold, heat, noise and vibration
  • ability to work in occasional hazardous areas such as wet floors
  • ensure proper precautions are taken
  • provide own non slip black kitchen shoes for work
  • effectively and efficiently move around work area
  • stand for majority of shift
  • inspect all work performed
  • lift and move up to 50 pounds and move loads of up to 100 pounds
  • sort all silverware as needed
  • perform other assigned tasks

Job Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • skills necessary typically acquired through two months of on the job training or related experience
  • maintain a professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance
  • able and willing to work all shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • strong guest service and problem-solving skills
  • able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • must be able to tolerate areas containing varying noise, smoke, and temperature levels
  • ability to secure and maintain state or tribal gaming license

Job Duties

  • Practice, support, and maintain the mission, vision and values of the casino
  • work as a member of a dish washing crew ensuring soiled items are placed in proper racks or containers which carry them through a dishwashing machine
  • inspect, remove, and properly store all clean items from the dish washing machine
  • wash steam kettles, tilt fryers, and food preparation equipment too large to put in dishwashing machines
  • supply dishware to food preparation stations as needed
  • remove soiled dishware and cooking equipment from food preparation stations
  • keep work area clean always including floor, machine, shelving, and carts
  • perform miscellaneous duties such as polishing silver, working in storeroom, preparing for banquets and special events
  • for grave shift stewards, perform deep cleaning including buffing kitchen floors, cleaning fryers, and cleaning hoods
