The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of kitchen and store areas, which is vital for both operational excellence and guest satisfaction. The associate will operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as dishwashing machines, hand wash stations, pot-scrubbing stations, and trash compactors. Maintaining hygienic conditions includes washing and disinfecting kitchen tools, knives, tables, and equipment, using the correct procedures and chemicals. Additionally, the role involves receiving deliveries, properly storing perishables, rotating stock, and ensuring that clean items are stored appropriately. Meticulous attention to detail is necessary when using detergents and sanitizers to clean dishes in the 3-compartment sink and when inspecting and sorting clean wares.

The position also requires comprehensive support of the overall cleanliness of the assigned areas by cleaning and mopping floors, breaking down bus tubs, emptying trashcans, and managing recycling tasks such as breaking down cardboard boxes. Safety is a top priority; the associate must follow company safety policies, report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to their manager, and complete all required safety trainings and certifications. Physical capabilities such as the ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds and to stand or move for extended periods are essential for success in this role.

Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Operate and maintain cleaning equipment including dish washing machine, hand wash stations, pot-scrubbing station, and trash compactor
  • Wash and disinfect kitchen and store room areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment
  • Receive deliveries, store perishables properly, and rotate stock
  • Use detergent, rinsing, and sanitizing chemicals in the 3-compartment sink to clean dishes
  • Inspect, pull, and stack cleaned items, send soiled items back for re-scrubbing and re-washing
  • Rack and spray all racked items with hot water to loosen and remove food residue
  • Sort, soak, and wash/re-wash silverware
