This organization is committed to adhering strictly to federal and state health laws, dietary regulations, and infection control protocols, assuring a professional and supportive workplace for all employees. The facility offers opportunities for professional growth and values the role of each staff member in contributing to a positive experience for its residents and their families.

The Steward position within this healthcare setting holds a critical role focused on the management and maintenance of the dishwashing area, ensuring sanitary practices are upheld to prevent contamination and promote health standards. This role is non-exempt, suggesting eligibility for overtime pay, and requires flexibility in scheduling including availability for weekends, holidays, and potential overtime shifts. The Steward actively participates in special event preparation and may take part in training new employees, underscoring the position's importance in operational consistency and team integration.

The ideal candidate for the Steward role will bring a high level of attentiveness to detail, ensuring all dishes, pots, pans, and small wares are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized according to health regulations. They will follow proper setup and breakdown procedures for dishwashing equipment, including routine de-liming to maintain optimal operation of the dish machine. Maintaining cleanliness throughout the back of the house, including floor areas, shelves, loading docks, and coolers, is a key component of daily duties, along with efficient disposal of food waste and trash. The role also involves collaborating closely with servers to assist during meal service by bussing tables and ensuring a tidy dining environment. Additionally, the Steward supports food storage activities upon deliveries, organizing and handling supplies appropriately.

Compliance with dietary and sanitary protocols as well as infection control guidelines aligned with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations is mandatory. The Steward will attend meetings and complete required training sessions to stay updated on policies and best practices. Above all, the role emphasizes delivering excellent customer service with compassion and empathy towards residents and their families, reflecting the facility's core values and mission.
