The Steward Position within the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino food and beverage department plays a crucial role in ensuring that all kitchen work areas, restaurant equipment, and utensils are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and order. This role primarily supports the food production team by maintaining a safe, sanitary, and efficient work environment that enables continuous food service operations. The Steward's responsibilities include cleaning floors, worktables, and kitchen appliances, managing waste and recyclables properly, assisting with food and equipment preparation and transportation, and collaborating closely with chefs during banquet events. By adhering to all departmental and company policies, the Steward helps to uphold the resort's commitment to exceptional guest experiences around food service.

This role requires individuals who are physically capable of performing demanding tasks which include prolonged standing and walking, lifting heavy loads up to 50 pounds, and maneuvering carts up to 400 pounds. Candidates must demonstrate keen attention to safety, sanitation protocols, and effective communication with supervisors, peers, and guests. A Sanitation or Food Handlers certificate is required, alongside a strong ability to maintain consistency, speed, and accuracy in a high-paced work setting. The position works primarily the graveyard or third shift, accommodating the unique demands of continuous food service in a bustling resort environment.

Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Carry out and follow policies and procedures of FSRC
  • follow directions from the Executive Steward and Stewarding Supervisors
  • maintain proper use, cleaning and handling of all equipment and product
  • maintain superior level of professionalism
  • clean floors by sweeping, mopping and using a floor scrubber
  • clean worktables, walls, ceilings, refrigerators and other equipment as specified by supervisors
  • separate and remove trash and recyclables in designated containers
  • clean and steam garbage cans, drains and floors
  • prepare and distribute food, equipment and other material as specified by supervisors or other designates
  • assist with transportation of food and equipment as specified
  • assist chefs with banquet plating operation and distribute equipment prior to and after banquet events
  • notify guests and employees of safety hazards such as water on floor by placing proper signage and safety materials/cones in appropriate areas
  • attend all safety and chemical handling training classes as provided
  • ensure chemicals and containers are secure, stored properly and disposed of following established procedures and standards
  • maintain open communication with supervisors, peers and management
  • knowledge of all kitchen and storage areas
  • maintain food warmers, cold boxes and general cleanliness of all areas
  • assist with cleaning, sanitation and stocking as required/needed
  • timely execution of all responsibilities and assignments
  • ensure the highest degree of sanitation is kept at all times
  • complete other job-related duties as assigned
  • maintain proper uniform and meet established appearance standards consistently
  • complete all tasks, duties and assignments within specified timelines
  • adapt duties and responsibilities to meet business needs of the company
