The Steward position at Sodexo is a part-time role offering a pay rate of $20 per hour. This role is crucial in supporting food service operations by maintaining cleanliness and organization in the back-of-house areas. Stewards ensure that sanitation, warewashing, equipment care, and overall kitchen cleanliness standards are upheld to facilitate smooth operational flow. Working under the supervision of the Steward Supervisor or culinary leadership, the Steward plays an integral part in various service settings including restaurants, banquets, concessions, premium services, and catering operations. The position involves supporting opening and closing sanitation procedures for food service areas, organizing and properly storing equipment and supplies, waste and recycling management, and maintaining floors, drains, and work surfaces to meet safety and hygiene standards.

Stewards are responsible for handling physical tasks such as lifting and moving items up to 35 pounds frequently and up to 40 pounds occasionally. The role demands punctuality and regular attendance as it directly impacts the efficiency and hygiene standards critical to food service success. Additionally, this role may require flexibility with varying shifts and open availability to accommodate the operational demands of different service models and event-driven service requirements. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred
  • previous experience in stewarding, sanitation, or food service support roles preferred
