The Steward position at Sodexo is a full-time role based at the Savannah International Trade & Convention Center. This role plays a vital part in maintaining the operational efficiency of food service areas by ensuring they remain clean, safe, and orderly. Stewards are critical in supporting a variety of food service operations including restaurants, banquets, concessions, premium services, and catering events. The Steward works closely under the direction of the Steward Supervisor or culinary leadership to meet sanitation standards and service readiness in fast-paced, dynamic environments. Key responsibilities include warewashing, equipment care, sanitation tasks, waste management, and ensuring compliance with cleanliness protocols for floors, drains, and work surfaces. The position demands individuals with strong work ethics who are punctual, reliable, and physically able to manage lifting requirements inherent in handling kitchen and service materials.
The pay for this position ranges from $13.51 to $18.24 per hour, reflecting the varying shift demands and operational needs. The role requires availability for varied shifts including days and hours, with preference for individuals who can provide open availability.

- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred
- Previous experience in stewarding, sanitation, or food service support roles preferred

Job Duties
- Support opening and closing sanitation procedures for food service areas
- Assist with organization and proper storage of equipment, supplies, and service ware
- Handle waste, recycling, and grease removal in accordance with established procedures
- Maintain floors, drains, and work surfaces to meet cleanliness and safety standards
- Frequently lift and move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 40 pounds
- Attend work and show for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
- Perform other duties as assigned based on business necessities and client requirements
