Job Description
Sheraton Grand Sacramento Hotel, located at 1230 J St, Sacramento, California, is a distinguished part of Marriott International's prestigious portfolio. The hotel is renowned for its commitment to providing exceptional guest experiences, blending luxurious accommodations with dedicated service. As a part of Marriott International, Sheraton Grand Sacramento upholds a legacy of hospitality excellence that dates back to 1937, connecting guests with memorable experiences and a sense of belonging in a vibrant community. Acting as a global gathering place, Sheraton fosters a rich culture of inclusiveness and teamwork among its associates, creating an environment where diversity is celebrated and professional growth is encouraged.
The role available at Sheraton Grand Sacramento is a full-time non-management position within the Food and Beverage & Culinary category. This position offers an hourly wage of $22.00, aligning with the company’s dedication to providing competitive compensation. The role involves essential operational duties that support the daily functions of the hotel’s kitchen and food service areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining cleaning equipment such as dishwashing machines and hand wash stations, ensuring that all kitchen and storeroom areas, including tables, tools, knives, and equipment, are thoroughly washed and disinfected. This position is critical for maintaining hygienic standards and supporting overall food safety protocols.
Additional key responsibilities include managing deliveries, correctly storing perishable items with proper stock rotation, and ensuring that clean wares are stored appropriately. The role requires using detergents and sanitizing chemicals effectively in a 3-compartment sink to clean dishes, inspecting and re-washing soiled items to meet quality expectations firmly. Employees will rack dishes, spray them with hot water to remove residues, and handle silverware washing through sorting, soaking, and re-washing processes. The candidate will also be expected to maintain cleanliness by breaking down bus tubs, emptying trashcans, managing the dumpster area, and disposing of glass and recyclable items responsibly.
Sheraton Grand Sacramento strongly emphasizes safety and compliance, requiring adherence to company policies, safety training, and protocols. The role involves physical demands such as operating equipment safely, moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted, standing and walking for extended periods, and performing physical tasks like bending and twisting. Employees are encouraged to foster positive relationships within the team, communicate professionally, and contribute to the overall success of the hotel’s operations by performing other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors.
Marriott International and Sheraton stand committed to equal employment opportunities and cultivating a workplace where diversity is celebrated and everyone belongs. Prospective candidates can expect to join a dynamic global network that supports career development while providing a workplace that values individual contributions and collective goals. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start or continue their careers within the hospitality industry, particularly in an environment that prioritizes guest satisfaction, employee growth, and community engagement.
