The Steward position at the Raleigh Convention Center with Sodexo offers a part-time opportunity with flexible shifts, paying between $15 and $19 per hour. This role is essential within the food service operations, responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized back-of-house environment. Stewards play a crucial role in supporting various food service venues, including restaurants, banquets, concessions, premium services, and catering operations. Their efforts ensure that all workspaces are sanitary, well-maintained, and fully prepared for the demanding pace of event and daily service.
In this role, the Steward will work closely with the Steward Supervisor and culinary leadership, adapting to fluctuate operational needs and event-driven service demands. Responsibilities include overseeing sanitation procedures during opening and closing, organizing and storing equipment and supplies properly, handling waste and recycling according to safety and environmental standards, and maintaining cleanliness of floors, drains, and work surfaces. Physical stamina is important as the role involves frequent lifting and moving of items weighing up to 35 pounds, occasionally up to 40 pounds.

- Previous experience in stewarding, sanitation, or food service support roles preferred

Job Duties
- Support opening and closing sanitation procedures for food service areas
- Assist with organization and proper storage of equipment, supplies, and service ware
- Handle waste, recycling, and grease removal in accordance with established procedures
- Maintain floors, drains, and work surfaces to meet cleanliness and safety standards
- Ability to frequently lift and move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 40 pounds
- Attends work and shows for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
- Perform other duties as assigned depending on business needs and client requirements
