The Ground Security Coordinator role at Atlas Air Worldwide is pivotal in ensuring efficient and compliant flight operations. This position is tasked with supervising vendors contracted by Atlas Air, as well as customers, to guarantee adherence to Atlas, FAA, and other civil aviation handling procedures. The coordinator plays a crucial role in flight handling coordination for all Atlas departments, including crew and ground handlers. Key responsibilities involve managing ground operations such as passenger and cargo-related functions, load planning, aircraft weight and balance calculations, and overseeing safety audits. This role demands a thorough understanding of aviation regulations, safety protocols, and operational procedures. Individuals in this position support the Station Manager, liaise with multiple internal and external stakeholders, and maintain seamless communication to address any issues impacting operations. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Four years of working experience
  • Background in the airline or aviation industry preferred
  • Experience in cargo and passenger service operations preferred
  • Successful completion of company initial and recurrent training in loadplanning, weight and balance, and aircraft handling
  • Maintains current passport and visas
  • No travel restrictions to any domestic and international stations
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to drive company and rental vehicles
  • Multilingual capability preferred
  • Fluency in English
  • Willingness to work shift and weekend coverage
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Demonstrated training skills for vendors and handlers
  • Ability to meet varied responsibilities and deadlines
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Proficient computer literacy including company and industry software
  • Willingness to work varied hours and holidays

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Provide oversight and direction to vendors contracted by Atlas Air
  • Ensure proper Atlas, FAA, and civil aviation handling procedures are used
  • Assist and oversee flight handling coordination for all Atlas departments, crews, and ground handlers
  • Comply with all company procedures outlined in manuals and memos
  • Communicate with station manager and HDQ Global Control Center on operational issues
  • Coordinate with customers to ensure timely load planning
  • Conduct thorough HAZMAT checks of all outbound cargo
  • Ensure accuracy and timely delivery of NOTOC to departing crew
  • Loadplan and compute aircraft weight and balance
  • Send and receive aircraft movement and load messages to/from various stations
  • Arrange ground transportation for crew between aircraft, operations, and hotels
  • Supervise aircraft and loading crews
  • Conduct FOD and safety audits
  • Comply with TSA, US CBP, FAA, and other regulatory safety and security procedures
  • Support station manager with administrative tasks and other station support
  • Perform additional duties as required
