Job Description

This role involves providing oversight and direction to vendors contracted by Atlas Air, along with customers, ensuring that all handling procedures comply strictly with Atlas Air standards, FAA regulations, and civil aviation rules. The position requires vigilance in flight handling coordination across all departments, including crews and ground handlers, fostering seamless operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating timely and safe aircraft arrivals and departures, managing load planning, pre-flight checks, safety audits, and supervising ground and loading crews. A significant part of the role is to ensure proper communication with the Station Manager, the Global Control Center, customers, vendors, and government authorities regarding operational matters. Responsibilities also extend to ensuring adherence to safety and security policies and the use of digital tools for accurate documentation of turnaround information.

The role emphasizes proactive management of aircraft and cargo handling, including supervision of aircraft marshaling plans, passenger and cargo inspection, and compliance with hazardous material regulations. Administrative support to the Station Manager and occasionally supporting other stations is also expected. Candidates are required to maintain compliance with all necessary certifications and training in load planning, weight and balance, and aircraft handling. Additionally, the position mandates flexibility for shift work and weekend coverage, proficient use of company and industry-specific software systems, and outstanding customer service skills. Multilingual abilities and a valid driver's license are highly desirable for this dynamic and challenging role where teamwork, safety, and efficiency are paramount.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • four years' working experience
  • background in the airline industry or aviation preferred
  • previous experience in cargo or passenger service operations preferred
  • must successfully pass initial and annual recurrent training in load planning, weight and balance, and aircraft handling
  • maintain current passport and visas
  • no travel restrictions to domestic and international stations
  • valid driver's license with ability to drive company and rental vehicles
  • willingness to work varied hours including shifts, weekends, and holidays
  • proficiency in computer literacy and ability to learn company-specific software
  • ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • outstanding customer service skills
  • ability to meet deadlines and manage varied responsibilities

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Comply with all company procedures as outlined in manuals, bulletins, and memos
  • perform job duties in a timely and efficient manner
  • follow company, local, and government safety and security policies and procedures
  • communicate with station manager and HDQ Global Control Center on any issues affecting operations
  • ensure all customers, vendors, and government authorities are aware of Atlas arrival and departure times
  • coordinate positioning of equipment and personnel prior to aircraft arrival and departure
  • coordinate with customers for proper and timely load planning
  • ensure all required preload checks are completed for cargo and ULD integrity
  • coordinate passenger and cargo handling functions including inspections and weight verifications
  • conduct HAZMAT checks of outbound cargo
  • verify accuracy and creation of NOTOC documents as necessary
  • ensure departing crews receive NOTOC timely for inspections
  • perform load planning and calculate aircraft weight and balance using company systems
  • receive and reproduce flight plans, weather, NOTAM/INTAMS, and other documents for flight crews
  • manage aircraft movement and load message communications with relevant stations
  • arrange ground transportation for crews between aircraft, operations, and hotels
  • oversee accurate and timely catering deliveries and resolve discrepancies
  • supervise aircraft and loading crews
  • enforce station-marshalling plans with vendors and ground handlers
  • replace or revise aircraft manuals and Jeppesens if instructed
  • conduct FOD and safety audits as required
  • use company digital tools for recording turnaround information and distribute Atlas reports timely
  • comply with all regulatory, safety, and security procedures including coordination with TSA, US CBP, FAA, and other authorities
  • support the Station Manager with administrative duties and assist other stations as needed
  • perform additional assigned duties as required
