Job Description

This unique waterfront culinary establishment offers a vibrant opportunity for career growth by hiring a PM Cook who will thrive in a dynamic and inspiring environment balancing casual and elevated, chef-driven cuisine. Situated at a scenic waterfront location, the restaurant is dedicated to providing guests with an exceptional dining experience that combines innovative flavors with a relaxed yet refined atmosphere. The kitchen is where creativity and precision meet, making it an ideal place for cooks who want to hone their skills and grow professionally.

The PM Cook role is integral to the smooth operation of the kitchen during evening shifts. This position requires a passionate culinary professional who is committed to preparing high-quality dishes with strong attention to detail, ensuring that every plate leaving the kitchen meets the restaurant's esteemed standards. The cook will work with a variety of ingredients including meats, seafood, poultry, and vegetables, utilizing multiple cooking techniques such as grilling, broiling, frying, and baking.

In addition to cooking duties, the PM Cook will assume complete responsibility for the quality of food served, maintain clean and sanitary stations, and uphold consistency in portion sizes and presentation. Working collaboratively with both front and back-of-house teams, this role demands a respectful attitude and strong communication skills. The environment is fast-paced and often requires multitasking and time management as the cook will also assist with prep work during quieter service periods and participate in opening and closing activities.

Safety and sanitation are paramount in this role, with expectations to properly handle, store, and rotate food products in compliance with health regulations. The kitchen environment can be noisy and physically demanding, including standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, stooping, and active movement throughout the shift. As such, physical stamina and a commitment to maintaining a safe workplace are essential.

Employees in this position will benefit from working closely with an experienced chef and management team, offering opportunities to learn new techniques and grow within the culinary field. Scheduled employee meetings provide a platform for contributing ideas and suggestions to continually improve kitchen operations.

This job is perfect for culinary professionals who have at least two years of cooking experience and are eager to advance within a reputable and unique waterfront restaurant setting. The ability to read and comprehend recipes, communicate effectively with the team, and a basic understanding of kitchen sanitation and guest allergy concerns are crucial qualifications.

Overall, the PM Cook role at this waterfront restaurant is an excellent career step for those looking to develop their culinary skills in an environment that values quality, teamwork, and professional growth. The establishment offers a balanced atmosphere that merges casual dining with elevated, chef-driven cuisine, making it a rewarding place to work and advance your culinary career.
