Job Description
State Park is a vibrant and welcoming establishment known for its dynamic bar and restaurant environment. Positioned as a go-to social spot, State Park blends a commitment to quality beverage production with exceptional guest service. It prides itself on maintaining a friendly, professional atmosphere that balances warmth with precision. As a part-time employer, State Park offers competitive wages ranging from $25.00 to $30.00 per hour, reflecting its appreciation for dedicated and hardworking team members. The work schedule for the Barback position is 2-3 days a week, perfect for those seeking a part-time role with significant impact and growth opportunities within the hospitality industry.
The Barback role at State Park is essential to the smooth operation of the bar and guest satisfaction. Barbacks act as the backbone of the bar service team, supporting bartenders by maintaining a clean and organized workspace, ensuring that all bar necessities are stocked and prepared, and assisting with beverage production. This position demands a friendly yet professional demeanor, with the ability to engage guests and team members alike warmly and thoughtfully. Beyond routine support duties, the barback also collaborates closely with the front of house team to ensure the guest experience remains seamless from entrance to exit. The role includes an active participation in maintaining the ambiance of State Park, including assisting with the music program and upkeep of recreational equipment such as the pool table.
Candidates for the Barback position should be self-motivated, ready to tackle various service and operational tasks, and comfortable with late working hours. The role requires a physical capability to perform duties that involve lifting, bending, standing, and moving around frequently during shifts. An eagerness to learn cocktail and beverage preparation techniques—such as batching, making syrups and cordials, straining infusions, and managing keg cocktails—is highly encouraged. This job is excellent for individuals looking to deepen their knowledge of beverage service in a high-volume restaurant environment while supporting a lively and customer-focused team. State Park emphasizes professional growth, teamwork, and continuous learning, making it an ideal workplace for aspiring hospitality professionals who are driven, positive, and team-oriented.
