Job Duties
- Provide exceptional customer service in a safe and clean environment
- Treat customers and employees in a fair and ethical manner
- Answer questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store
- Gain and maintain knowledge of products to respond to inquiries and make suggestions
- Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to achieve company goals
- Prepare beverage selections to recipe and customer requests using proper equipment
- Tender transactions using company best practices
- Offer product samples and inform customers of specials
- Provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes
- Recommend coffee shop items to customers
- Use all coffee shop equipment according to company guidelines
- Prepare, package, label and inventory ingredients and merchandise
- Check product quality and review sell by dates
- Use kitchen equipment, espresso machines, blenders, scales, and steamers properly
- Label, stock and inventory department merchandise
- Report product ordering and shipping discrepancies
- Stay current with seasonal and special ads
- Reinforce safety programs and comply with food safety regulations
- Identify unsafe conditions and notify store management
- Practice preventive maintenance for equipment
- Notify management of accidents and safety risks
- Report illegal activities including theft or fraud
