Job Requirements

Job Duties

Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and store
Gain and maintain knowledge of products within the department and respond to customer questions and product suggestions
Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to help achieve company and store goals
Prepare beverage selections to recipe and standards and tender transactions using company best practices
Offer product samples to help customers discover new items and inform them of coffee shop specials
Provide customers with fresh products in correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
Recommend coffee shop items to meet customer needs
Use coffee shop equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens following company guidelines
Prepare, package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise
Check product quality to ensure freshness and review sell-by dates
Properly use kitchen equipment including espresso machine, blender, computerized scale, and steamer
Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise
Report product ordering and shipping discrepancies
Stay current with seasonal, future, and special ads
Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions
Practice preventive equipment maintenance and notify management of repair needs
Notify management of accidents, safety risks, or illegal activities
Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment
Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational way
Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
