The Food & Beverage team at Target plays a crucial role in ensuring that customers enjoy fresh, in-stock, and properly priced food products. The Food Service Team Leader position is designed for individuals passionate about food service operations and guest satisfaction. This role involves overseeing daily functions related to food freshness, safety, inventory accuracy, product presentation, and promotional activities to maintain optimal department performance. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous retail experience preferred
- Strong interest and knowledge of the food service business
- Ability to lead and hold others accountable
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Capable of handling workload and prioritizing tasks
- Ability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment
- Willing and able to work variable schedules including nights, weekends, holidays and closing shifts
- Ability to operate multiple frequency communication devices and handheld scanners
- Capability to scan, handle, and move merchandise weighing up to 44 pounds
- Ability to work in environments including refrigeration and freezer temperatures
- Must have reliable and prompt attendance
- Ability to access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues
- Ability to interpret instructions, reports and information
- Ability to accurately handle cash register operations when needed
- Willingness to climb ladders
- Ability to remain mobile for full shift duration
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Consistently deliver guest experience commitments to create an easy, inspiring and friendly guest experience
- Ensure every team member understands, is trained, and consistently delivers on Target’s guest experience commitments and consistent operations
- Actively observe and provide feedback, holding team members accountable while recognizing great guest experience moments
- Review area guest, financial, and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities, take action to improve, and align team on the right behaviors and execution
- Understand sales goals, plan and execute daily/weekly workload to deliver department and store sales goals and guest engagement
- Assess food service back of house, production areas, dining spaces and merchandising spaces to ensure food safety and proper inventory levels
- Lead and demonstrate a culture of safety, compliance, inclusivity, and ethical conduct while managing the food service team
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, training and development of team members
- Ensure adherence to food safety standards, cleaning routines, and brand specifications for Starbucks and Pizza Hut (where applicable)
- Manage inventory through ordering, accurate recording, and proper perishable inventory management
- Model execution of security processes and support merchandise protection strategies
- Occasionally assume store-level leadership on duty responsibilities
- Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick up and Drive-up while maintaining compliance with laws
- All other duties as assigned based on business needs
