The Starbucks Manager position within the Ala Moana Hotel by Mantra presents an exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic team focused on delivering the exceptional Starbucks Experience to both customers and partners. The Starbucks Manager is entrusted with significant responsibilities including managing day-to-day store operations, making strategic staffing decisions, and ensuring superior customer satisfaction and product quality. Key tasks involve hiring, training, evaluating, disciplining, and scheduling store partners, alongside managing the financial performance of the store and maintaining safety and security standards. Beyond operational duties, the Starbucks Manager is responsible for setting goals, developing organizational capabilities, and leading by example during high-volume periods to maintain smooth store operations. Job Requirements

  • Minimum three years of progressively responsible retail experience
  • One year of supervisory experience
  • One year of customer service experience in a retail or restaurant environment
  • Experience in analyzing financial reports
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to set priorities, manage multiple simultaneous projects and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and mentor others

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Setting goals for the work group, developing organizational capability, and modeling how we work together
  • Demonstrates a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events and manages smooth transitions thereafter to keep store operating to standard and to set a positive example for the store team
  • Displays a customer comes first attitude by training and holding partners accountable for delivering legendary customer service
  • Drives the implementation of company programs by developing action plans and directly motivating and instructing the store team to implement them to meet operational and organizational objectives
  • Manages with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promote the culture, values, and mission of Starbucks
  • Plans, identifies, communicates, and delegates appropriate responsibilities and practices to store partners to ensure smooth flow of operations
  • Provides coaching and direction to the store team to take action and to achieve operational goals
  • Constantly reviews store environment and key business indicators to identify problems, concerns, and opportunities for improvement
  • Developing strategic and operational plans for the work group, managing execution, and measuring results
  • Providing functional expertise and executing functional responsibilities including ensuring adherence to applicable wage and hour laws for nonexempt partners and minors
  • Solicits customer feedback to understand customer needs and the needs of the local community
  • Uses all operational tools to plan for and achieve operational excellence in the store including labor scheduling, status reports, cash and inventory management
  • Utilizes management information tools and analyzes financial reports to identify and address trends and issues in store performance
  • Providing partners with coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities and building effective teams
