The role of a Starbucks Barista at Food City’s Knoxville location (284 Morrell Road) is focused on creating an exceptional Starbucks experience for Food City shoppers. This part-time or full-time position involves delivering prompt and friendly service while preparing high-quality beverages and food products that meet Starbucks’ strict recipe and presentation standards. Baristas act as ambassadors for both Starbucks and Food City, embodying the brands’ values of integrity, honesty, and excellence in customer care. They are expected to open and close the kiosk operations alongside store management, manage cash register transactions efficiently with the POS system, and maintain cleanliness and order in the work environment to ensure customer comfort. A Starbucks Barista at Food City is not only responsible for preparing beverages but also for engaging with customers, offering product information, and using suggestive selling techniques to enhance the shopping experience.

This position requires strong problem-solving skills to address any issues that arise, from barista-related tasks to customer concerns and business challenges. Baristas are also tasked with motivating their team members to meet store goals and to consistently follow safety policies and food handling procedures to maintain the highest standards of hygiene and food safety. Job Qualifications

  • must be 18 years of age or older
  • food service or coffee experience a plus but not required
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • ability to learn how to mix a wide variety of coffee and tea products
  • understanding of ingredients in various products
  • experience with Starbucks ingredients such as coffees, teas, spices, nuts, flavorings, sauces, and oils
  • ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • ability to perform routine and repetitive tasks
  • strong communication skills for daily interaction with customers and team members
  • ability to work on-site during scheduled shifts

Job Duties
