The Starbucks Daily Operations Leader role within Macy's represents a dynamic and impactful career opportunity. This position centers around managing the licensed Starbucks café inside Macy’s, ensuring the café operates efficiently, professionally, safely, and profitably while upholding the brand standards of Starbucks alongside Macy’s Foods Division expectations. The leader collaborates closely with Baristas, delivering exceptional customer service and expertly crafted beverages to enhance the Starbucks Experience. Beyond daily operations, this role includes coaching and developing team members, maintaining a positive and energetic work environment, and partnering with store leadership to meet ambitious sales, profitability, and compliance goals.

As a Starbucks Daily Operations Leader, the candidate influences others, hones leadership abilities, and fosters an uplifting atmosphere for both customers and colleagues. This full-time position typically requires working 30 or more hours per week, while part-time schedules range between 12 and 24 hours. Weekend shifts form a mandatory part of the work schedule, with flexibility needed to accommodate business demands and colleague availability. This role offers an excellent blend of operational leadership, customer engagement, and team development within a nationally recognized environment characterized by its commitment to tradition and innovation.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • retail food service or customer service experience preferred
  • ServSafe certified or have food handler permit as required by state or local health department
  • ability to perform heavy lifting constant moving and remain stationary for extended periods
  • capable of stooping kneeling crouching climbing ladders and reaching above eye level
  • must have close vision color vision depth perception and focus adjustment
  • able to work flexible schedule including days evenings weekends and holidays based on company needs

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent encouraged
  • retail food service or customer service experience preferred
  • ServSafe certification or food handler permit as required by state or local health departments
  • strong leadership communication and coaching skills
  • solid organizational and problem-solving skills
  • strong customer focus with the ability to resolve concerns effectively
  • basic business acumen to support sales goals cost control and accurate cash handling
  • knowledge of food safety sanitation and regulatory standards

Job Duties

  • Lead daily café operations ensuring compliance with safety sanitation and product quality standards
  • deliver exceptional customer experience modeling Starbucks customer connection and Macy’s selling behaviors
  • train coach and motivate colleagues to maximize team performance customer satisfaction and professional development
  • ensure consistent preparation presentation and merchandising of food and beverages adjusting recipes to meet customer requests
  • monitor labor productivity balancing customer service needs with cost control
  • assist with ordering receiving inventory management and invoice processing to maintain stock levels and achieve food and beverage cost targets
  • monitor sales expenses and reports to achieve profit and loss goals and communicate results and priorities to team and leadership
  • oversee cash handling and point-of-sale operations complying with Macy’s and Starbucks policies
  • maintain a clean professional and welcoming café environment serving as a role model for grooming communication and workplace conduct
  • partner with store leadership and Starbucks Managers to resolve customer concerns and ensure operational excellence
  • foster an environment of acceptance and respect to strengthen relationships and ensure authentic connections with colleagues customers and communities
  • perform other duties as assigned
