The role of Starbucks Daily Operations Leader within Macy's Foods Division entails overseeing the licensed Starbucks café operations inside Macy's stores. This position is pivotal in ensuring the café runs smoothly, efficiently, and profitably while upholding the high standards of both Starbucks and Macy's. The Daily Operations Leader works collaboratively with Baristas to maintain the quality and consistency of customer service and beverage craftsmanship, serving as a model for the Starbucks Experience. This role involves coaching and developing team members to foster a supportive and energetic work environment. Additionally, the leader partners with store leadership to meet sales and profitability goals while ensuring compliance with food safety and operational policies.

As a Starbucks Daily Operations Leader, you will lead daily café operations with a focus on safety, sanitation, and product quality standards mandated by Starbucks, Macy's Foods Division, and local Health Departments. Your leadership will inspire colleagues to deliver exceptional customer experiences, model Starbucks’ customer connection standards, and embody Macy's selling behaviors. You will be responsible for training, coaching, and motivating staff, ensuring proper food and beverage preparation, monitoring labor productivity, assisting with inventory and ordering, managing sales and expenses, and overseeing cash handling and point-of-sale operations. Maintaining a clean and welcoming café environment and building authentic connections with customers and colleagues are essential to this role. This full-time or part-time position requires flexibility with scheduling, including weekends and holidays. The work environment is dynamic and fast-paced, demanding a commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Retail food service or customer service experience preferred
  • ServSafe certified or have food handler permit as required by state or local health department
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical activities including constant moving reaching stooping kneeling crouching and climbing ladders
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including days evenings weekends and holidays
  • Strong leadership communication and coaching skills
  • Commitment to customer service and teamwork

Job Duties

  • Lead daily café operations ensuring compliance with safety sanitation and product quality standards
  • Deliver exceptional customer experience by modeling Starbucks customer connection standards and Macy’s selling behaviors
  • Train coach and motivate colleagues to maximize team performance customer satisfaction and professional development
  • Ensure consistent preparation presentation and merchandising of all food and beverages to Starbucks standards making necessary recipe adjustments to meet customer requests
  • Monitor labor productivity to balance customer service needs with cost control
  • Assist with ordering receiving inventory management and invoice processing to maintain stock levels and achieve targeted food and beverage costs
  • Monitor sales expenses and reports to achieve profit and loss goals and communicate results and priorities to the team and leadership
  • Oversee cash handling and point-of-sale operations in compliance with Macy’s and Starbucks policies
  • Maintain a clean professional and welcoming café environment serving as a role model for grooming communication and workplace conduct
  • Partner with store leadership and Starbucks Division Managers to ensure operational excellence and promptly resolve customer concerns
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships and ensures authentic connections with colleagues customers and communities
  • Perform other duties as assigned
