This role is for a Barista Trainer who will work closely with the Starbucks Manager to ensure the smooth, efficient, and profitable operation of the Starbucks within Macy's stores. The Barista Trainer is responsible for maintaining high standards in all aspects of Starbucks service, including product preparation, customer interaction, and adherence to safety and cleanliness protocols. This full-time position generally requires working 30 or more hours a week, while part-time options are also available with 12-24 hours weekly. The schedule includes weekend shifts, reflecting the retail environment's needs. Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 1-2 years related experience
- Ability to read and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
- Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift at least 25 pounds
- Ability to perform physical tasks including stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing ladders
- Frequent use of computers and handheld equipment for register transactions
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Follow and ensure team follows Food Division Standards and Best Practices
- Provide leadership and direct associates in providing food products and exceptional customer service during shifts
- Ensure team prepares and presents drip coffee, cold beverage, espresso bar and pastry products to Starbucks standards
- Follow Starbucks merchandising, product presentations and signing standards
- Ensure team meets speed of service standards
- Monitor food quality using Starbucks checklists
- Demonstrate a positive role model for Starbucks Simply Service Steps
- Support a strong working relationship with store management
- Provide ongoing training, feedback, coaching, and staff motivation to all associates
- Maintain role model standards in grooming, professional appearance and communications
- Meet highest standards of workplace safety, sanitation, and equipment care
- Utilize forecasts, daily sales reports and weekly food cost and payroll reports to ensure monthly profit/loss goals are met
- Assist in preparation and production of all menu items
- Assist in ordering food, beverage, dry and paper goods based on budget and business needs
- Assist in product receiving and follow Inventory Best Practices
- Perform other duties as needed
- Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities
