Day-to-day, a Starbucks Barista’s duties include delivering exceptional guest service, managing product inventory accurately, following Starbucks and Target guidelines for food safety and cleanliness, and supporting digital order fulfillment systems such as the Starbucks Drive Up. The barista engages guests warmly, ensuring a welcoming environment through proactive communication and problem-solving. Additionally, baristas are responsible for maintaining the freshness and accuracy of all food and beverage products and safely handling equipment and merchandise.

Job Requirements
- Ability to work in a fast-moving, highly active and physically demanding role
- Flexible work schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and other peak shopping times
- Accurately handle cash register operations as needed
- Climb up and down ladders
- Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds
- Reliable and prompt attendance necessary
- Ability to work in environments ranging from 34F to -10F as needed
- Ability to work in spaces where common allergens may be present
- Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties including Drive-Up, carryout
- Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift
- Ability to follow state and federal food safety and OSHA guidelines
Job Qualifications
- Previous Starbucks/food service experience preferred but not required
- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members
- Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment as directed
- Work both independently and with a team
- Resolve guest questions quickly
- Attention to detail and follow a multi-step processes
- Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes
Job Duties
- Deliver an exceptional guest experience by providing a fresh and abundant shopping experience during all hours of operations, prioritizing the guest's needs over task
- Uphold and maintain the execution of the Food & Beverage standards
- Execute food and beverage processes including food deliveries, replenishment, instocks routines, data accuracy, culling, rotation, cleaning, signing, and organizing and storing reserve product
- Support the Starbucks Drive Up process to ensure digital guest orders are fulfilled accurately and on time
- Engage with guests to meet and exceed their expectations based on Starbucks standards
- Produce hand crafted beverages and food to specifications on recipe cards
- Complete and record all cleaning tasks in the Starbucks space as outlined in best practices
