We are currently seeking a dedicated Barista to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in delivering excellent customer service by welcoming guests, identifying their coffee needs, and guiding them through our menu and products. The Barista will be responsible for preparing coffee drinks according to precise recipes and standards, operating our POS system for significant portions of the shift, and maintaining inventory and equipment to ensure a smooth workflow. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a customer-oriented attitude, and the ability to perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks. They will contribute to a positive work environment, comply with safety and sanitation standards, and help elevate our coffee shop's reputation through exceptional service and attention to detail. This full-time or part-time position requires flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the business's needs. Job Requirements

Minimum age of 16 years
Ability of simple reading, writing, math, and task completion skills
Flexible working all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekends as business needs dictate
Must consistently exhibit courteous, respectful, and appropriate communication
Must meet requirements of regular attendance to effectively complete job responsibilities in a timely manner
Ability to push/pull up to 50lbs occasionally
Ability to stand, walk, reach overhead, bend, crouch, kneel, and balance for duration of shift
Ability to operate mechanical devices and perform preventive maintenance
Must be able to perform repetitive use of both hands and have finger dexterity
Willingness to maintain safe and healthy work environment following standards and sanitation regulations.

Job Qualifications

Previous barista experience preferred
Ability to follow instructions
Strong communication skills
Basic math and writing abilities
Problem-solving skills
Independent judgment and decision making
Ability to work flexible shifts including holidays, nights, and weekends
Minimum age of 16 years
Positive attitude towards customer service
Ability to contribute to a collaborative work environment.

Job Duties

Welcomes guests by determining their coffee interests and needs
Educate guests by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu, answering questions
Sells coffee and coffee grinding and brewing equipment by explaining differences in coffee beans and coffee preparation machines
Demonstrates how brewing equipment operates
Prepares and sells coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks such as espresso lungo, caffe latte, and cappuccino
Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply
Stocking coffee brewing equipment
Maintaining supplies, pastries, and cookies for coffee bar
Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs
Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations
Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes, implementing changes, maintaining and improving the appearance of the store and coffee bar
Enhances coffee shop reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
Operates the POS (Point of Sale) for half of shift, 4 hours minimally
Performs daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks
Assists with monthly breakdown of store for deep cleaning
Performs any other duties as assigned within the scope of this position.
