The role available at SpartanNash is positioned at the 2022 Apple Orchard Ave location in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This position is responsible for preparing coffee shop beverages and food items, operating the cash register, and ensuring courteous and efficient customer service throughout the transaction process. As a part of this role, the individual will adhere to established standards for brewing, mixing, and blending beverages, alongside preparing food items in accordance with company procedures. Safety protocols and cleanliness standards are paramount, ensuring that all food and beverages are handled properly and prepared within a sanitary environment. Additionally, this role involves managing inventory by stocking and rotating coffee items and merchandise displays, maintaining a solid understanding of current store programs and product locations.
Operational competence is essential, as this role requires familiarity with check-stand equipment like registers and coffee shop machinery to promote efficiency. The associate is also tasked with notifying leadership when products or supplies need replenishing. Compliance with company policies is a critical aspect, especially concerning security, cash handling, product integrity, and sanitation standards. The role demands excellent communication skills to relay information about company programs such as loyalty initiatives, in-store specials, and coupons, ensuring the creation of a customer-oriented environment that fosters positive guest experiences.
Physical demands are consistent with a retail store environment, requiring the ability to lift or move items frequently up to 30 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. The position calls for prolonged standing and walking, with frequent bending, stooping, twisting, and turning. Environmental conditions vary with exposure to indoor store settings and occasional outside weather, with ambient noise levels typically low to moderate.
