The Barista Lead at Aramark plays a vital role in crafting memorable customer experiences by delivering timely, high-quality service and beverages while maintaining a clean and welcoming café environment. This leadership position involves training and guiding barista staff, ensuring adherence to company recipes, and meeting food safety and sanitation guidelines. The Barista Lead is responsible for operating the register/POS system accurately, managing cash handling processes according to corporate policies, and supporting team coordination and scheduling when necessary. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills to greet and assist customers effectively and anticipate their needs, contributing to a positive atmosphere in the location.
Barista Leads are hands-on in preparing and serving a variety of coffees, teas, and specialty beverages per brand standards, along with food items that align with location requirements. They oversee the setup and breakdown of the coffee bar, ensure stations are clean and sanitized, and manage stock levels of beverages, grab-and-go items, service ware, and condiments. The position demands the ability to work independently with limited supervision, a strong focus on customer service excellence, and the capability to train staff on a range of job functions including coffee preparation, customer interaction, and cash handling. Physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and prolonged standing are part of the role, along with compliance in wearing uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience as a successful barista
- Previous cash handling experience
- Basic math and counting skills
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Ability to follow required dress code
- Able to read and communicate in English
- Complete Food Handling Certification as required

Job Duties
- Greet and assist customers while anticipating their needs
- Prepare and serve coffees, teas, specialty beverages per brand standards
- Prepare and serve food items in line with location standards
- Train and guide staff members in coffee and food preparation, customer service, cash handling, product knowledge and other processes and procedures
- May schedule and delegate work assignments to team and coordinate the completion of tasks for the location
- Accurately operate a register/POS and handle cash and credit card transactions
- Count, organize and balance cash drawer, fill out the cashier slip and make deposits
- Adhere to Aramark’s cash handling policies and procedures
- Set up and breakdown coffee bar, stations or store including cleaning and sanitizing
- Maintain clean and sanitary work area
- Stock beverage coolers, grab and go items, service ware and condiments
- Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products
