The role of Food Service Worker at Aramark involves supporting the kitchen management team by assisting in food and meal preparation while maintaining high standards in food quality, safety, and sanitation. This position requires dedication to maintaining cash receipts and meal records as well as helping prepare daily reports to verify transactions. An essential part of the position is to adhere strictly to all food safety regulations regarding sanitation, food handling, and storage, ensuring the kitchen environment is hygienic and compliant with health codes. The Food Service Worker will prepare quality food and baked goods according to planned menus, serve food according to established schedules and policies, and use kitchen equipment with care and safety, particularly knives and other sharp tools.

Additionally, the worker is responsible for small but vital tasks such as adding garnishments to enhance customer satisfaction and food presentation, coordinating major cleaning tasks for refrigerators, freezers, and other kitchen appliances, and maintaining clean work and storage areas to foster a safe working environment. Physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking or standing are part of the job, and the worker may be required to wear uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to maintain safety and hygiene. Communication with the manager to understand daily menu plans and monitoring food temperature requirements are also key duties, emphasizing teamwork and responsibility.

Job Requirements

  • Food Service Certificate as needed
  • Ability to read, write, and follow instructions
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

  • Willingness to wear uniforms and PPE

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • Understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • Timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • Adhere to the uniform policy
  • Connect with the Manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • Supervise the food temperature requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment including sweeping, mopping, ware washing
  • Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • Meet physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing
  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
