With a robust global supply chain network, SpartanNash operates as a distributor, wholesaler, and retailer, facilitating the distribution of grocery and household goods including fresh produce and the renowned Our Family portfolio across all 50 states in the U.S. This expansive reach enables SpartanNash to service a diverse range of customers including national accounts, independent and chain grocers, e-commerce retailers, U.S. military commissaries and exchanges, as well as the company's own brick-and-mortar grocery stores, pharmacies, and fuel centers. Known for its culture of positivity, SpartanNash boasts a team of braggingly happy employees across various roles from bakery managers to IT developers, HR Business Partners, export specialists, and vice presidents of finance, all contributing to delivering exceptional service and product availability to customers.

SpartanNash is currently seeking a dedicated individual for the role of Coffee Shop Cashier located at 850 76th Street S.W., Byron Center, Michigan. This position plays a crucial role in the daily operations of the coffee shop by preparing beverages and food items according to established standards and procedures. The role encompasses not only beverage preparation but also handling transactions efficiently and courteously by operating the cash register and processing payments through various methods including cash, checks, credit cards, gift certificates, and coupons.

In this role, the Coffee Shop Cashier is expected to maintain a clean and organized environment, ensure food safety and sanitation guidelines are followed, and assist in stocking and rotating merchandise to maximize sales and presentation. The role requires strong customer service skills to communicate current store programs, specials, and loyalty initiatives effectively to customers. Teamwork is emphasized, as cashiers may be assigned tasks in other departments to enhance the customer experience. Safety is paramount with clear adherence to personal protective equipment (PPE), food handling, and cleaning expectations.

This position is ideal for someone with excellent verbal communication skills, good organizational abilities, and attention to detail, ideally with prior retail or related experience. A high school diploma or GED is preferred. The physical demands include standing and walking for extended periods, frequent lifting of items up to 30 pounds, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, along with bending, stooping, and other movements typical in a retail environment.

SpartanNash prides itself on fostering a People First culture that values employee development and promotes a sense of belonging. The company offers a competitive Total Rewards benefits package, invests in associate growth, and is committed to equal employment opportunities for all individuals including those with disabilities and veterans. This opportunity is a chance to join a well-established company with a strong commitment to employee satisfaction and customer success.
