The role available at Food City is to represent Starbucks within their store at the 7510 Asheville Highway Knoxville location. This position is focused on creating the Starbucks experience for shoppers by delivering prompt and courteous service, preparing quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean, comfortable environment. This role is crucial in upholding Starbucks' celebrated hospitality standards while being embedded in Food City's supportive work environment. Employees will be responsible for taking and completing customer orders efficiently, engaging shoppers with product information, and performing quality control on food and drink items. Additionally, they will handle transactions accurately via the POS system and contribute positively to the store's overall atmosphere through teamwork and adherence to company values.

This position requires individuals to have a minimum age of 16, with prior food service or coffee experience considered a plus but not mandatory. Those hired will receive training on preparing a wide range of Starbucks coffee and tea beverages as well as learn about the various ingredients that go into their products such as coffees, teas, spices, nuts, flavorings, sauces, and oils. The job demands an ability to follow both verbal and written instructions, perform repetitive tasks, and maintain constant interaction with customers and team members. Employees must commit to punctual attendance and adherence to company time policies.

Job Qualifications

  • Learn how to mix a wide variety of coffee and tea products
  • Learn the ingredients that go into various products
  • Work with various Starbucks ingredients including various coffees, teas, spices, nuts, flavorings, sauces, and oils
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions, perform routine and repetitive tasks and have constant contact/interaction with various levels of individuals on a daily basis
  • Ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts to adhere to company time and attendance policies

Job Duties

  • Ensure efficient and courteous customer service at all times in support of the company mission to run the best store in town
  • Take customer orders, ensure orders are completed in a timely manner, and to the customers satisfaction
  • Prepare, bagging, pouring, and stocking Starbucks products, rotating items to ensure product quality and safety
  • Maintain a positive and friendly attitude towards customers and fellow associates
  • Engage with customer, offering product information, using suggestive selling techniques, and sampling products
  • Process cash register transactions using POS system
  • Provide quality beverages, whole bean, and food products consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards
