Job Requirements
- Must be able to physically perform medium work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly
- Visual requirements including clarity of vision at distances between 20 inches and 20 feet with or without correction, color vision, depth perception, and field of vision
- Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions
- Must report to work when scheduled and on time
- Must adhere to company policies and individual store guidelines
- Night and weekend shifts required
- Employment contingent upon successful pre-employment drug screen
Job Qualifications
- Less than high school or equivalent experience
- Six months or less of similar or related work experience
- Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions
- Ability to do simple addition and subtraction
- Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions
- Ability to write identifying information
- Ability to request supplies orally or in writing
Job Duties
- Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store
- Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the employee's designated department or elsewhere in the store
- Makes an effort to learn customers' names and to address them by name whenever possible
- Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach items, loading or unloading heavy items, making note of and passing along customer suggestions or requests, and performing other tasks to enhance the shopping experience
- Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service including taking customer orders
- Takes customer orders at the counter
- Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment
- Handles food safely and ensures the work area is always clean and neat
- Reviews the status and appearance of food for freshness
- Ensures adequate food supply is ready and on hand, following a production list
- Anticipates product needs daily
- Prepares and replenishes products as necessary
- Checks in product, puts product away, and may review invoices
- Runs department registers and processes payments where applicable
- Removes trash promptly
- Maintains strict adherence to personal hygiene, dress, company policies, and store guidelines
- Reports to work on time and when scheduled
- Washes dishes as necessary
- Orders products and supplies
- Prices products
- Assists in other store areas
- Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned
