High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) or equivalent experience
Related work experience in customer service
Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, inventory control standards and systems
Certification may be required for Starbucks baristas

Job Duties

Greet all customers and provide fast, friendly, personalized service
Mix and serve hot and cold beverages such as coffee, espresso, cappuccino, latte, tea, chai, and fruit smoothies according to customer specifications
Maintain good customer relationships and ensure the quick delivery of all drinks and food items
Educate customers on menu offerings and initiate suggestive sales
Organize coffee cart or bar supplies attractively
Clean coffee machines, restaurant areas, and preparation zones regularly
Process all sales transactions, handle cash, operate a cash register, and follow all cash handling procedures as necessary
Walk or move around for extended periods
Stand or walk during shifts lasting over 8 hours
Reach, bend, stoop, push, pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds, occasionally lifting or moving up to 50 pounds
Attend work and arrive on time for scheduled shifts consistently
Perform other duties as assigned which may vary by location or client needs
