Job Description

Stagecraft LTD is a reputable event labor company based in Colorado, with a strong presence in the Denver Metro and Colorado Springs areas. Founded by industry professionals with over 40 years of experience in live event production, Stagecraft LTD delivers skilled, reliable, and hardworking crews dedicated to ensuring flawless execution of concerts, festivals, theatrical productions, exhibitions, and competitive events across the Front Range. As a company focused on effective communication and quality workmanship, Stagecraft LTD prides itself on recruiting employees rather than independent contractors, providing valuable benefits such as full-coverage workman’s compensation insurance and tax advantages for its staff. The company operates as a W2 employer and strongly supports equal employment opportunities by encouraging women, minorities, and all qualified individuals to apply regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or veteran status.

Stagecraft LTD is actively seeking experienced and passionate stagehands and AV technicians for upcoming live events in the Denver Metro and Colorado Springs regions. The positions available are temporary with potential for long-term placement, depending on performance and business needs. Entry-level general stagehands in the company start at a salary range of $31 to $33 per hour depending on experience, while AV tech positions start at $36 and up. This opportunity is ideal for professionals who are eager to contribute their production skills in dynamic live event settings and grow alongside a team of seasoned specialists. Candidates applying should possess a willingness to learn, the ability to take direction, and the drive to work collaboratively.

The role of a stagehand at Stagecraft LTD is pivotal to the success of every event. Stagehands are responsible for handling all physical and technical equipment-related tasks required before, during, and after a live event. This includes working with stage components, lighting setups, sound systems, backline equipment, video components, and scenic backdrops. Responsibilities span from unloading and setting up equipment to operating technical gear during performances, as well as packing and dismantling everything after the event concludes. A major aspect of this role involves assembling lighting trusses, hanging fixtures, running power and control cables, assembling ground support systems including stages, trusses, and scaffolding, positioning speakers and monitors, and securing all cable runs safely and efficiently.

Working as part of a proactive stage crew requires the ability to coordinate effectively with project leads and department heads, including those in audio, video, and lighting. Candidates must be prepared to operate motorized equipment like forklifts and scissor lifts, and possess basic carpentry and electrical skills to contribute to the swift and safe execution of event setups. The job also demands physical endurance, as stagehands need to stand, crouch, crawl, climb, and move heavy equipment under various weather conditions. A strong sense of safety, problem-solving capability, composure under pressure, and the ability to quickly adapt to changing workloads and schedules are essential traits that successful team members must exhibit.

Stagecraft LTD values employees who take initiative, maintain focus amidst distractions, and demonstrate reliability by arriving on time and fulfilling tasks with minimal supervision. Being on-call and ready for overnight shifts or events in remote locations is an integral part of the job. The working environment fosters skill acquisition, professional networking, and career growth within the entertainment and live event production industry. The company is committed to creating a respectful and supportive workplace where technicians develop their talents and contribute to high-quality events that leave lasting impressions on audiences and clients alike. Prospective candidates will find this opportunity rewarding both financially and professionally, as they build relationships and expand their expertise within a collaborative and skilled team.
