The Studio Stage Manager at Netflix is responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of stage management to ensure smooth, efficient production workflows. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years film production experience
  • Proven stage manager experience
  • Knowledge of film production workflows and technical stage production
  • Ability to make quick decisions
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-driven and proactive
  • Problem-solving expertise
  • Understanding of safety protocols
  • Familiarity with union regulations
  • First aid or safety certification is a plus
  • MEWP and forklift certification
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information
  • Proficiency in Google Docs, Sheets, Gmail, G-Drive, MS Word, Excel
  • Familiarity with AirTable is a plus
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Theatre, Film, Production Management, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years experience in film production
  • Proven experience as stage manager or similar role in studio operations or film, television, commercial production
  • In-depth knowledge of film production workflows, set protocols, and technical requirements
  • Experience with lighting, sound, and rigging technical aspects
  • Exceptional decision-making and leadership abilities
  • Strong organizational skills and multitasking capability
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Self-starter with ability to drive projects independently
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Comprehensive understanding of stage and production safety protocols
  • Familiarity with union regulations and working with unionized crews

Job Duties

  • Strategically recruit, develop, and lead a team of Stage Specialists
  • Oversee administrative functions including billing, record-keeping, and facility inspections
  • Manage team scheduling for optimized productivity
  • Exercise executive oversight of daily stage and on-lot production operations
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures and best practices
  • Coordinate communication between production teams, clients, and technical staff
  • Manage budgets, procurement, and inventory for stage-related resources
