The Staffing/Scheduling Specialist role is a pivotal position within NorthBay Health's Clinical Support Services team. This full-time position is responsible for ensuring optimal staffing levels across assigned patient care units, working closely with Clinical Managers, Clinical Nurse Supervisors, and other leaders to maintain safe, efficient, and effective staffing that supports excellent patient care. The Specialist manages the daily staffing functions and oversees the master scheduling process while maintaining tight communication across departments, always upholding confidentiality standards related to patient and employee information.
Key to the role is the accountability for registry and traveler credentialing processes, including the placement of registry staff on various units, which is critical for maintaining operational smoothness and compliance with healthcare regulations. This position also extends support by assisting with secretarial, clerical, and receptionist duties within the Clinical Support Services Department. The Staffing/Scheduling Specialist operates under the direct supervision of the Staffing Supervisor and is expected to model the NorthBay Way principles—Caring, Communication, Collaboration, and Competence—in their daily responsibilities.
NorthBay Health offers this role on 10-hour shifts with a 30-minute lunch break, including some weekend and holiday work as required. Compensation includes an hourly salary ranging from $29.63 to $32.61, adjusted based on experience, with a 10% per diem differential and generous shift differentials, reflecting the organization's commitment to recognizing the value of its dedicated workforce.
This role is ideal for individuals with previous secretarial or administrative experience, preferably with a background in hospital staffing and proficiency in word processing, database programs, and general office equipment. Excellent communication and organizational skills, the ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and manage stress are essential. The Specialist will contribute significantly to NorthBay Health’s vision of becoming the trusted healthcare partner by ensuring staffing excellence that directly impacts patient care quality and operational success. Joining NorthBay Health means becoming part of a compassionate team committed to innovation, collaboration, and the highest standards of healthcare service.Show Less
