Job Description

Northrop Grumman is a leading global aerospace and defense technology company with a distinguished history of pioneering innovations that have shaped the future of technology and defense. From historic achievements like the first transatlantic flight to the development of stealth bombers and the lunar landing, Northrop Grumman continues to be at the forefront of groundbreaking advancements. The company is deeply committed to national security, scientific exploration, and space systems, making it a key player in aerospace and defense sectors worldwide. Northrop Grumman fosters a culture driven by intellectual curiosity, cognitive diversity, and a collaborative environment where employees bring their authentic selves to work. This innovative spirit and passion for pushing boundaries are what define the company and the work it does.

The Electrical Staff Test Conductor position is based in Redondo Beach, California, within Northrop Grumman's Space Systems division, which is recognized as an industry leader in providing prime satellite and payload capabilities as well as directed energy and electronic solutions for military, national security, and civil government clients. This role is integral to the Integration, Test, and Launch directorate, tasked with ensuring mission success through rigorous testing and validation of spacecraft and payloads. The Spacecraft Operations team responsible for assembly, testing, and launch activities operates in a highly collaborative environment, engaging closely with Test Engineers, Test Conductors, and Technicians. This position supports critical launch operations worldwide.

The Electrical Staff Test Conductor's primary responsibility is to oversee all phases of electrical system testing to ensure that tests meet engineering and mission objectives. This includes developing, releasing, and executing electrical test plans, schedules, and procedures, and providing support during mission control operations to achieve project milestones. The role demands strong leadership qualities to guide cross-functional teams and serve as the liaison between mechanical and electrical operations, engineering disciplines, program management, and line management. The Test Conductor also assists in anomaly resolution, leading troubleshooting efforts and response teams when issues arise during testing phases.

Candidates must demonstrate effective communication skills, the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively, and the capacity to manage complex tasks with minimal supervision. This position requires ongoing adaptability and a willingness to learn new engineering disciplines, supported by a firm grasp of technical specifications and schematic diagrams. The standard work schedule follows a 9/80 format, providing every other Friday off, although weekend, second, third shift, and off-hours support may be required depending on program needs. The role also entails travel up to 25 percent of the time for offsite mission critical milestones.

Employment at Northrop Grumman includes a comprehensive benefits package encompassing medical, dental, and vision coverage; a 401(k) savings plan; educational assistance; life insurance; employee assistance and work/life resources; paid time off; health and wellness programs; and employee discounts. This strategic role offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute to space exploration and national defense programs while engaging with leading-edge technology in a dynamic, mission-driven environment where your contributions directly impact the future of aerospace and defense.
