Job Description
Northrop Grumman is a leading global aerospace and defense technology company renowned for pushing the boundaries of innovation and technology to impact the world positively both today and for future generations. The company has a rich history of pioneering achievements, including being instrumental in the development of the first transatlantic flight, the creation of stealth bombers, and contributions to the moon landing. Renowned for its cutting-edge work in defense, aerospace, and technological systems, Northrop Grumman embraces a culture that thrives on intellectual curiosity, diversity of thought, and a commitment to excellence. Employees at Northrop Grumman are encouraged to bring their whole selves to work, contribute bold ideas, and participate in collaborative, meaningful projects that create history.
Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is currently seeking a Site Liaison Engineering Lead to join its Systems Engineering organization located in Georgia, USA. This full-time, on-site role requires a seasoned engineering professional who will act as the primary technical liaison bridging field operations, engineering teams, and the customer. The Site Liaison Engineering Lead will apply systems thinking to effectively resolve complex field issues involving avionics, data centers, and communication systems primarily within field or depot environments. This position mandates a strong leadership presence capable of managing multiple concurrent action items related to configuration and change requests while ensuring that all technical modifications meet stringent schedule, safety, and performance standards.
In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the intake and technical review of Configuration Change Board (CCB) packages, ensuring thoroughness, risk assessment, and proper implementation guidance. They will provide technical oversight and mentorship to engineers responsible for modification design and verification processes, delivering key technical briefings and status updates to customers, stakeholders, and program leaders. Furthermore, this role demands coordinating staffing, schedules, and resources to assure smooth execution and closure of modification activities. The lead will champion the adoption and adherence to the change implementation process, demonstrating a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
This role requires an individual with exceptional communication skills, as well as strong technical insight to facilitate collaboration across engineering functions and customer interfaces. The Site Liaison Engineering Lead is expected to travel up to 25% of the time, working exclusively onsite – remote work or telecommuting options are not available. The position requires an active Top Secret clearance and the ability to obtain Special Access Program clearance, underscoring the critical nature of the work in sensitive defense environments.
The salary range for this role is approximately $161,000 to $241,400 annually, reflecting the extensive expertise required, the complexity of responsibilities, and market conditions. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differentials, discretionary bonuses, and long-term incentives depending on their position. Northrop Grumman also offers a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, life and disability coverage, savings plans, company-paid holidays, and paid time off for vacation and personal matters. Northrop Grumman values diversity and is committed to equal employment opportunities for all individuals, ensuring decisions are made without regard to protected characteristics. U.S. citizenship is required for this position due to security clearance requirements.
