Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is currently seeking a Requirements and Verification - Staff Systems Engineer to join their Systems Engineering organization. This full-time, on-site role is available in San Diego, El Segundo, or Palmdale, California. The position demands an active Top Secret security clearance and involves travel up to 10% of the time. The engineer will be instrumental in collaborating with cross-functional teams, subject matter experts, and test engineers to ensure that all products meet or exceed technical specifications and customer requirements.

The role focuses on verification planning and execution, including authoring Requirement Verification Plans (RVPs) and System Test & Verification Plans for Integrated Functional Capabilities (IFCs). The candidate will lead technical reviews, obtain cross-functional approvals, review verification data products, and author reports to close out IFC activities formally. Managing customer interactions during approval processes is also a key responsibility.

Collaboration with engineering and test teams is essential, involving partnership with subject matter experts to gather analysis for verification methods, reviewing test procedures to ensure requirements interpretation accuracy, participating in peer reviews to uphold high-quality standards, and resolving findings rooted in a comprehensive understanding of the system's intended behaviors.

Additionally, the engineer will support system definition and integration by authoring use cases, technical requirements, and feature acceptance criteria. The position requires investigation of early findings and anomaly impacts on core system requirements and alignment with engineering teams to ensure system readiness for formal testing.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience supporting Systems Engineering Milestones such as SRR, PDR, and CDR, along with expertise in the full lifecycle of Systems Engineering, including requirements decomposition, test planning, verification, and management, particularly with DOORS software. Experience managing supplier technical requirements and leading technical teams is also necessary.

This role offers a competitive salary range of $177,000 to $265,600 annually, with additional compensation possibilities including overtime, shift differentials, discretionary bonuses, and potential long-term incentives for Vice President or Director levels.
