Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is currently seeking a highly skilled Staff Systems Engineer to join its Systems Engineering organization. This role is open in multiple locations including Oklahoma City (OK), Melbourne (FL), Rancho Bernardo (CA), and Palmdale (CA). This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Special Access Program (SAP) clearance and involves travel approximately 10% of the time. The Staff Systems Engineer will operate as an individual contributor within a multi-disciplinary engineering team focused on modernizing and sustaining advanced aerospace systems. The role involves driving the development and refinement of technical requirements, defining system interfaces, conducting analyses, and integrating efforts across engineering disciplines. You will collaborate within Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, manage program milestones, and ensure requirements are met effectively. The position offers a salary range from $144,900 to $217,300 annually, with potential eligibility for bonuses, overtime, shift differentials, and long-term incentives depending on the candidate's role and performance. As a Staff Systems Engineer at Northrop Grumman, you will be responsible for leading critical technical activities such as developing and managing system requirements, writing complex specifications and interface control documents, and ensuring engineering artifacts comply with configuration management standards. You will participate in and lead major program milestone events to verify that objectives are achieved. Your role will include interfacing closely with program and subsystem leads, coordinating validation and verification efforts, managing control accounts as a Control Account Manager (CAM), and reporting earned value performance. Managing risks, opportunities, and technical challenges proactively, you will support change management processes and ensure that program integration activities are aligned with organizational goals. This role demands excellent communication and leadership skills as you will coordinate cross-functional teams and work with stakeholders to address issues and convey technical information clearly. The role also requires experience with Agile methodologies and proficiency in scripting languages like Python.
