The position of Staff Systems Administrator at Northrop Grumman Space Systems in Aurora, Colorado, offers an exciting opportunity to be a key part of the team managing and maintaining advanced government IT systems. This role supports large government contracts requiring deep expertise in Linux and Windows system administration along with VMware technology management. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of multi-user environments by collaborating closely with network engineers, software engineers, PC technicians, project managers, end users, and IT management. Essential duties include system enhancements, patching, monitoring, problem resolution, configuration management, backup and recovery handling, file system administration, and maintaining security compliance and audits. Support is also extended to the Cyber Security team with responsibilities around virus protection and security logging on classified systems.

The job requires an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with a full-scope polygraph, reflecting the sensitivity of the projects managed. Northrop Grumman values experienced professionals who bring a strong background in server administration with RedHat Enterprise Linux and Windows operating systems, VMware technologies, and comprehensive NAS storage (preferably NetApp) management skills. A DOD 8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification such as Security+ CE, or the ability to obtain one shortly after starting, is mandatory. Candidates should be capable of supporting after-hours operations and be willing to travel approximately 15 percent of the time. The position may include physically handling equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.

This role offers a salary range from $177,000 to $265,600 and includes the potential for overtime, shift differentials, discretionary bonuses, and long-term incentives for senior roles.
