Job Description

Bloom Energy is a leading innovator in clean energy technology with a mission to make reliable, affordable, clean energy accessible worldwide. The company specializes in advanced solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) and solid oxide electrolyzer (SOEC) technologies, which enable efficient and sustainable power solutions for diverse sectors including AI-driven data centers, hospitals, electric grids, manufacturing facilities, and utilities. With over 30,000 fuel cell modules deployed globally, Bloom Energy has established itself as a trusted partner for a wide array of industries, helping them meet growing energy demands while tackling energy scarcity challenges. Bloom's vision is to drive the global energy transition by delivering energy abundance with sustainability and reliability at its core. The company thrives on bold thinking, innovation, and collaborative efforts to address some of the most pressing energy challenges of the 21st century.

The Staff Process Engineer role at Bloom Energy is an exciting opportunity to join the frontline of cutting-edge manufacturing processes in clean energy technology. Based in Fremont, CA, and reporting to the Senior Manager of Process Engineering, this fully on-site position requires working evening hours to provide critical off-shift coverage of all process engineering activities across multiple functional areas within fuel cell manufacturing. This role demands a dynamic professional with deep expertise in manufacturing engineering, particularly roles related to semiconductor, hard disk, solar, or other high-tech industries.

The Staff Process Engineer will play an essential part in addressing production issues in real-time by collecting and analyzing equipment and product data, identifying root causes of failures, and implementing preventive and corrective actions to improve manufacturing yield and process reliability. This position supports developing and maintaining operating procedures, conducting training for production teams, and collaborating cross-functionally with Quality, Product Development, and Manufacturing teams to drive continuous process improvements and efficiency gains. This role offers a unique blend of hands-on engineering with analytical data work, making it ideal for candidates who excel in troubleshooting, statistical analysis (SPC, DOE), and process optimization.

The role offers a salary range from $114,800 to $165,200, reflecting the advanced skill set and experience required. To thrive in this role, candidates must possess excellent communication skills for written and verbal reporting, a strong engineering background (B.S. or M.S. in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Materials Engineering, Physics, or Chemistry), and more than 5 years of relevant manufacturing experience in technical environments. Bloom Energy is dedicated to equal employment opportunities and accommodates qualified individuals with disabilities, ensuring a supportive and inclusive workplace environment. Joining Bloom Energy means taking part in a mission-driven company focused on driving innovation for a sustainable energy future while expanding one’s professional capabilities in an evolving technology landscape.
