CVS Health is renowned for its innovative approach toward advancing health care and its commitment to making a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals, families, and communities across the United States.
As a Staff Pharmacist at CVS Health, you will be a vital member of the pharmacy team within the retail environment, playing a crucial role in delivering outstanding patient care and supporting the operational aspects of the pharmacy. This full-time role offers a competitive salary range of $65.00 to $81.00 per hour and serves as a key leadership position that supports the Pharmacy Manager in directing the pharmacy team and ensuring high standards of pharmacy practice. As a Staff Pharmacist, you are expected not only to fulfill your duties with precision and professionalism but also to exemplify the company’s values by demonstrating genuine and authentic care for patients.
The responsibilities of the Staff Pharmacist include managing and improving patient health through the safe and appropriate dispensing of medications, counseling patients, and administering immunizations. You will serve as the Pharmacy Manager's proxy during certain shifts, overseeing the pharmacy’s day-to-day operations, guiding team members, and ensuring compliance with state regulations and company policies. You will foster a culture of excellence by coaching the pharmacy team, identifying performance improvement opportunities, and offering feedback. Patient safety is paramount in this role, and you will help ensure that prescriptions are fulfilled accurately while following safety protocols and maintaining pharmacy workflow. You will also contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, resolving issues related to insurance or medication, and collaborating with other health care providers.
In addition to clinical responsibilities, the Staff Pharmacist has operational duties such as managing inventory, especially protecting temperature-sensitive medications, supporting compliance with pharmacy laws and regulations, and remaining flexible to accommodate various scheduling and business needs. The role requires a commitment to professional growth, including completing required training and continuing education to stay current with industry advancements. CVS Health fosters a supportive and inclusive team environment where every team member is valued and empowered to deliver holistic care and improve patient outcomes.
