The Staff Assistant role is vital in managing high-tempo administrative and program coordination which directly supports senior leadership in the field of international security and arms control. The Staff Assistant is also responsible for coordinating meetings, conference logistics, and travel arrangements both domestically and internationally, including hotel bookings, passport and visa support, and travel voucher completion. The incumbent will also serve as a liaison for HR administrative actions, maintain timekeeping for T/FO staff, assist onboarding processes, and act as a point of contact for General Services Office work orders and IT issues.

Strong communication skills are necessary for drafting, clearing, and submitting congressional reports and other critical briefing materials. The candidate will transcribe notes during meetings and support correspondence across several agencies. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge management platforms such as Teams and SharePoint is preferred. The ideal professional will bring a background in foreign affairs administration, travel management, or political-military affairs, with experience drafting policy-related or administrative documentation from diverse government or academic sources.
