We are currently seeking dedicated and reliable Hospital Cleaning Staff to join our team at Strong Memorial Hospital, located at 601 Elmwood Avenue, Rochester, New York. This role involves performing essential housekeeping duties that ensure a clean, safe, and sanitized environment for patients, staff, and visitors. As part of our commitment to excellence and health safety, these services help maintain infection control standards, contributing directly to patient care and overall hospital operations.

In this role, cleaning staff will be expected to handle a variety of cleaning tasks, including both light and heavy cleaning activities throughout the hospital and medical center facilities. The position requires proficiency with commercial cleaning equipment such as vacuums, scrubbing machines, floor strippers, waxers, and buffers. Employees must be physically capable of standing, walking, bending, and reaching continuously while handling medium to heavy materials and equipment. The nature of the work also means exposure to refuse, dust, detergents, body wastes, odors, and sometimes infectious materials, necessitating a careful and conscientious approach to safety and hygiene.

The work schedule varies and includes the need for availability during rotating shifts, which encompasses nights, weekends, and holidays, to meet the continuous operational requirements of the hospital. The compensation for this position ranges from $17.00 to $18.00 per hour, with hourly rates determined based on factors such as market data, individual education and experience, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.
