As a multinational company, FedEx operates an extensive fleet of vehicles and ground support equipment that plays a critical role in ensuring smooth operations and effective customer service worldwide. Headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee, FedEx combines sophisticated technology, skilled professionals, and comprehensive vehicle maintenance programs to uphold high standards of safety and performance across their global fleet. With a strong focus on employee growth and diversity, FedEx fosters an inclusive work environment and offers competitive salaries and benefits to its workforce.

The role of Fleet Maintenance Technician at FedEx is key to maintaining the operational integrity of the vehicle fleet and ground support equipment used in daily operations. This position is responsible for providing timely and high-quality maintenance services including preventative maintenance, troubleshooting complex mechanical issues, performing repairs and modifications, and documenting all work accurately using FedEx's advanced computer systems. The technician must ensure that all maintenance activities comply with OSHA and Department of Transportation (DOT) safety standards, maintaining the safety and compliance of the fleet.

In this role, the maintenance technician will lead and support a team of technicians and trainees, sharing knowledge and fostering a collaborative work environment. Candidates are expected to possess hands-on experience with a range of vehicle systems including hydraulic, gasoline, diesel, electric, and hybrid motorized equipment. Proficiency with welding, basic DC electrical troubleshooting, and computer operation is highly desirable. The job demands physical capability to handle weight lifting and maneuvering heavy automotive parts regularly, along with the ability to work independently in non-air-conditioned or heated, noisy workshops. The position requires a flexible work schedule to accommodate any shift, and the possession of a valid driver's license is mandatory.

This employment is non-covered and safety-sensitive, emphasizing FedEx's dedication to safe working practices. Offering a competitive hourly wage ranging from $33.00 to $43.41 per hour, the position is an excellent opportunity for candidates with a passion for vehicle maintenance and a commitment to operational excellence. FedEx also emphasizes its status as an equal opportunity employer, welcoming applicants with disabilities and veterans. The company provides reasonable accommodations during the application and hiring process, reinforcing its supportive workplace culture. Candidates interested in this role must apply online and upload a detailed resume for consideration.

Overall, working as a Fleet Maintenance Technician at FedEx means being part of a world-class logistics company where technical expertise, teamwork, and dedication to vehicle safety directly contribute to the success of global delivery networks. This role offers professional growth, competitive pay, and a supportive environment for skilled automotive maintenance professionals seeking to make an impact in a dynamic industry.
