Job Description
FedEx Corporation, a global leader in logistics and transportation, is renowned for its commitment to swift and reliable delivery services. With a vast network that spans the globe, FedEx provides innovative transportation solutions that facilitate the movement of goods and packages safely and efficiently. The company prides itself on fostering a culture of operational excellence and customer satisfaction. As a globally recognized brand, FedEx continues to expand its footprint in the freight and parcel delivery industry by combining technology with exceptional service standards to meet the evolving needs of its clients.
The role of a Fleet Maintenance Technician at FedEx is a critical position dedicated to ensuring the operational reliability and safety of the FedEx vehicle fleet and supporting ground equipment. This role demands expertise in preventative maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, modifications, and comprehensive documentation of all maintenance activities. The position is responsible for adhering to strict regulatory standards, including those set by OSHA and the Department of Transportation (DOT), ensuring that FedEx's fleet operates without interruptions and upholds safety protocols.
This full-time position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $33.00 to $43.41, reflecting experience and qualifications. It requires extensive hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance, with a strong emphasis on managing a diverse fleet that includes gasoline, diesel, electric, and hybrid motorized equipment. The technician will be proficient in using diagnostic tools and testing equipment, as well as maintaining an organized inventory through FedEx computer systems.
The successful candidate will not only perform complex mechanical repairs but also take a leadership role by guiding and supporting a team of technicians and trainees. This is a hands-on role that demands the ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of safety awareness in a noisy and often temperature-variable work environment. The job includes physically demanding tasks such as lifting and maneuvering heavy equipment and working various shifts as needed.
FedEx values continuous improvement and professional development; thus, preference is given to individuals with vocational training or ASE Master certifications. This role is non-covered and safety-sensitive, requiring a valid driver’s license and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of vehicle safety and operational efficiency. By joining FedEx, technicians become integral members of a dynamic team ensuring that the company’s transportation network remains efficient and dependable.
Additionally, the position highlights FedEx’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, being an equal opportunity employer that welcomes applicants with disabilities and veterans. The company ensures reasonable accommodations during the hiring process, aligning with federal employment laws and maintaining transparency in compensation. As part of a global enterprise, Fleet Maintenance Technicians contribute directly to the success of one of the world’s most trusted brands while enjoying the benefits of a supportive and rewarding work environment.
