This role is a key position within BankUnited that combines responsibilities traditionally associated with both the Teller Line and the Platform. The position demands a balance between customer service excellence, transaction accuracy, cross-selling of products, and adherence to regulatory requirements. Successful candidates will engage directly with clients, performing a variety of banking transactions such as receiving deposits, cashing checks, inputting transactions into systems, and performing outbound calls to support marketing initiatives. Additional duties include cross-training on platform products, processing ATM and night depository transactions, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations such as anti-money laundering laws.

The role also offers a sign-on bonus of 1,000 dollars payable after six months of continuous service, underscoring the company’s commitment to rewarding loyalty and performance. New hires are expected to attend a two-week retail training class in Miami Lakes or Boynton Beach, with potential reimbursement for travel and accommodation for those traveling significant distances. This full-time role is ideal for individuals with at least 2-3 years of cash handling experience, preferably in teller functions, who are fully trained in both teller and platform operations. Job Requirements

HS diploma or GED required
Minimum of 2-3 years of cash handling experience preferably Teller
Must be fully trained in both Teller and Platform functions
Willingness to attend a two-week retail training class
Ability to perform cash handling and balancing duties accurately
Strong customer service orientation
Ability to comply with all bank policies and regulatory requirements
Reside within BankUnited's operational footprint preferred but not required

Job Duties

Receives checks and cash for deposit, verifies amount, and examines checks for endorsements
Cashes checks and pays out money after verification of signatures and customer balances
Enters customers' transactions into computer to record transactions and issues computer generated receipts
Places holds on accounts as appropriate
Balances currency, coin, and checks in cash drawer at end of shift and compares totaled amounts with data displayed on computer screen
Explains, promotes, refers, or sells bank products or services such as accounts, loans and cashier's checks in the branch or via telemarketing
Performs outbound calls and sets appointments for Market Leader and/or Sales & Service Officer in accordance with market initiatives and/or branch goals
Cross-trains on the products and operational processes associated with the Platform and assists clients with related activities
Opens and processes all types of accounts, products, and/or services for customers after consulting with them on their specific needs
Achieves individual referral goals for cross selling of all credit, non-credit and fee income goals
Maintains knowledge of current products, policies, procedures and regulations as it relates to position
Adheres to all current policies, procedures and regulations as it relates to position
Processes transactions from automated teller machine and night depository
Responds professionally to customer inquiries or problems
Assists customers with safe deposit box transactions
Fills in for Financial Specialist Leader when absent
May order daily supply of cash and counts incoming cash
Under dual control, balances cash in automated teller machines and night depository
Adheres to and complies with applicable federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to anti-money laundering (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, US PATRIOT Act, etc.)
Adheres to Bank policies and procedures and completes required training
Identifies and reports suspicious activity
